I have never used mmf and am going to attempt to make some figures out of it for a cake this weekend. What do I need to add to it? I read on another post that I need tylose and I don't have any or anywhere around here to buy it. SInce I need to make the figures tomorrow, what can I add to the mmf in place of tylose that will keep my figures solid enough?
TIA

Can you get some gum tex? That is a Wilton product and you can get it at Hobby Lobby, Michaels and even Walmart. Other than that I THINK I saw somewhere someone used Fast Teeth in their fondant to make it dry fast and hard - but I am not sure about that.

Yep, Wilton´s Gum-Tex OR you can add half MMF and half gumpaste or make them all gumpaste, you can find Wilton´s already made gumpaste at Michael´s as well. Good luck!
Oh, one more thing.... I´ve done some figures out of MMF and have not added anything, they turned out OK! Just let them dry for a good 3-4 days. HTH.
What are you planning on doing?
Thanks! Hobby Lobby has gum-tex...I'll get some tomorrow.
nefgaby I am making Jack and Jill figurines for a cake I am doing for a baby shower cake this weekend. I promise to post pics if it doesn't turn into a disaster.
THANKS!

I believe you should be fine... specially if they are sitting down and you allow a couple days to dry, the only figure I added gum to was the snowboarder, since he was standing, everything else is without gum and it worked fine.
Can´t wait to see pics, let me know!
