I wonder....Can you get away with using one of the airbrush sets for painting model car kits??? I mean if it can handle model paint, which is faily thick compared to food coloring...can it work for airbrushing a cake?? I'm curious!!

There are airbrush kits that use artist paints rather than edible food colors, if this is what you mean.

At Kopykake, a couple of the airbrushes they sell for cake decorating, they also sell for arts/crafts uses. I'd compare the one you want to buy with those and see if you notice any differences.
