Please send me some ideas for a first communion cake for a girl. I only like to do buttercream frosting because no one in my family likes fondant. I dont want to do a cross cake. I have the communion girl figurine that I would like to put on the cake. I also have a small gold cross and a big white cross. HELP. I need ideas before this Friday night.

I did one a few years ago with an edible image of the communon chalice and a simple border with "Congratulations" and the little girl's name on it. It was a 1/2 sheet cake and was fairly simple, but elegant & the mother loved it.

This is a beautiful cake. Maybe you can do something with it. You can exchange the cake's figurine for whatever gender the child is.
