Well, I've been making flowers for 3 hours now and I had no idea how hired I was until I sat in front of the comp to write this. I thought I was decorating cakes before- I did 4 cakes so far for my friends and family bdays and it was all ganache and drop flowers for decoration. I thoght that was time consuming. Until tonight that is icon_smile.gif I finally managed to find decoration tips for making flowers, and decided to give it a shot for a cake, I have to make for friday. I made the cake- chocolate butter, make the filling- raspberry buttercream and then started with the bc roses. So after 3 hours of making them some actually looked like some kind of flower and one or two you can guess for a rose. The kitchen is a mess, my back and hand hurt terribly /ladies, you are so lucky to have flower nails to make roses with/ and I forgot to leave some white bc to make daisies tomorrow. And despite all this I just can't stop smiling- IT'S JUST THE BEST FEELING creating something beautiful with your hands icon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gificon_biggrin.gif ... well I know my roses ain't that beautiful but right now they seem perfect to me icon_smile.gif I hope I can post pictures soon, I still have to frost the cake and assemble it and I'm so afraid that I'll mess it up but man, I feel like a million bucks right now. icon_smile.gif So sorry about wasting your time with that but I just had to share and for the last 2 month I learn so much from you ladies, this forum and this site, that it seems right to write this here, where I'll be understood icon_smile.gif Anyways, thanks for reading and thanks for being part of such a great community icon_biggrin.gif

I know the feeling it feels good, doesn't it! You get so into it time flys quick. Just do the best you know how frosting and decorating thats all you can do. The more you practice the more cakes you do, you won't be a nerves. Pretty soon you'll just be whipping them out like you've been doing them for years. Good luck!!!!!

Congratulations. I can make simple rose buds and small roses that don't have enough petals. I keep saying I'm going to spend a whole day doing nothing but flowers and never do.
I always get excited when I create something new.
With your passion your gonna do well.
God bless you.

Thank you all for the wonderful relpies icon_smile.gif Noone around me understands how great it feels to build and decorate a cake, so they can't really share my feelings icon_smile.gif
Btw, I have immense trouble with rosebuds. I read the Wilton site, read the topics here I found but I just don't get how to do them! icon_sad.gif Is there a video they about them- I feel they are harded than the actual roses icon_sad.gif

good for you that you are happy with your flowers. They are tricky but the more you do it the easier they will get.
I remember my first cakes taking forever to decorate. My hand felt like it was going to fall off. But now, man I'm flying. I finish one and stand back, bag in hand, and say " bring on another one I'm just getting warmed up." icon_lol.gif

Those little rose buds drive me to distraction too. I just can't get them to look right. Make a nice little 'mouse ear' but then the thing just curls all strange. Sigh.

keep decorating thumbs_up.gif
