One of our customers has made an odd, or at least very specific, demand. She wants a stacked square anniversary cake and insists the top tier be 6 inches and the bottom tier be 14 inches. I'm having a tough time deciding which is more aesthetically pleasing.. 6, 8, 12, 14 or 6, 8, 10, 14.

I'm opting more for the latter so that at the very least the larger tier would be near the bottom and not the middle. Still, a 4 inch gap between cake layers seems like a lot. Any thoughts on this? icon_confused.gif

According to my last Wilton class (course 3), 4" is the difference in cake tiers that you should do.

When all else fails, I pull out my graph paper and start drawing...seriously it will give you a good idea of what you'd like to do.

Good Luck with it!!

Using graphing paper is an awesome idea, mmdd! icon_biggrin.gif

Unfortunately, the bride insists on having 4 stack tiers...and that they be approx. 4 inches tall...one burgendy rose, one gold rose, two purple orchids and so forth. We'll all be happy when we no longer have to deal with her.
