borax, and sugar around the outside the sugar will attrack then the borax will kill them. i know you don't want ot kill them, but it works.

We had ants (the small ones) coming into the house from outside by our back door. Someone told me to put a chalk line around the stoop that was outside the door because ants won't cross a chalk line. I can't remember why they won't, but it worked! I don't know if it works with the big black ants, though. Good luck!
