I am just starting out with cake decorating and I am taking the Wilton classes. Tonight was the last night for course 2. My husband was going to watch the kids but he is stuck in traffic and will not be home in time for me to make it to the class. So I will not be learning the basketweave or the rope border. icon_cry.gif To top it all off I am taking these classes with my mom but she is out of town and I was supposed to go so I could show her what she missed.

Take the kids with. Leave a note for hubby to come get them at the class location!
I'm sure they'll understand.

That would make me VERY sad! I am a wilton instructor. Contact your instructor and tell (her?) what happened. She might be able to work something out for you. You might be able to attend the last night of another class taught or something like that.
I am sorry you had to miss your night out!! icon_cry.gif

Some instructors will do a makeup class. You might also be able to sit in on another class when they reach the last session of course 2. It would be well worth asking about. I don't know if there is a universal policy on the matter of missing a class, but my Wilton instructor was wonderful with her students who had to miss.

Don't be sad! There's still hope! icon_wink.gif

icon_smile.gif how about asking a close friend or good neighbor to watch the kids ? I'm sure it's not a three hour class ? maybe 1 hour the most right ? icon_smile.gif

A woman in my class always brings her little boy, who is about 6, to our class. He has learned a lot and it's really neat to see him work! Lots of people have, also, been late. I'm sure your instructor will understand. Good luck!

I thought about bringing my kids....then I came to my senses. They are 6, 3 and 1. When the 3 of them are together out in public it can be very chaotic. I don't even take them with me to the grocery store any more. I wouldn't want to spoil the class for everyone else. But I will ask the instructor if we can sit in on another class. Thanks!
