Amaretto is a liquer made with rum or vodhka and almond essence.
I have a good a Amaretto cake recipe.

Amaretto cake

.

1 cup butter
11/2 cup sugar
3 eggs, seperated
2 cups sifted flour
1 tsp baking powder
1 tsp baking soda
1/2 tsp salt
1 cup sour cream
1 tsp grated orange rind
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
2 tbs sugar
1/4 cup orange juice
1/3 cup Amaretto

Cream butter and 11/2 cups sugar until light and fluffy. Beat in egg yolks one at a time. Fold in beaten egg whites. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt and add to batter a little at a time, alternating with sour cream. Stir until smooth. Mix in grated orand rind and walnuts and pour into greased 9" pan. Bake 50 minutes at 350 degrees celsius. Mix remaining sugar with orange juice and Amaretto and spoon over cake as soon as it comes out of the oven. Cool before removing from pan.
BON APPETIT

You can also use whatever white cake recipe you already love and sub out some of the water for the amaretto, then put it in your simple syrup.
