I wanted to make some for my son's birthday but I am new and have no idea where to begin. I have seen some cute ones on here of just diego's head. I found and outline of his head on Nickjr.com which looks like the one people have used. How would I get the printed outline from the computer onto a cookie to make them? As I said I am new to this and still a bit clueless. Any ideas greatly appreciated! Go Diego Go icon_biggrin.gif

I printed out the picture that I liked, cut it out of the paper, laid it out on the cookie dough and cut around it. Then I free-handed the rest with Royal icing.

Darling, darling, darling. What consistincey was your icing? Is this like painting with acrylic paints? Did you paint direcly onto the cookie or lay a base (MMF, RBC, Fondant) down? Sorry for all the questions...I have been asked to make logo cookies for my church and need to get the format down correctly. Thanks a bunch!!!

I do an outline with Royal icing (medium consistancy). I pipe it on with a number two tip. I then thin my icing to the consistancy of pancake batter and use a small knife like tool to "paint" on the icing. I know some people use a paint brush and that would work just fine. I free hand the outlines. If you aren't comfortable with that, somepeople lay the computer print out right over the cookie and use pin pricks to create and outline that they can cover with icing.

HTH!

megamere,

Wow!!! You are way more talented than I, there is NO WAY I could freehand that. Your cookies look amazing. I have a question, if I tried the pin prick method do I do that when the cookie is raw or after it is cooked? That is probably a really dumb question dunce.gif I just really want to make these for my little guy, he loves Diego!!! Thanks

Sue, THANKS for the compliments. Pin prick after the cookies are cookied. It works even better if you put down a base coat first (like a white background). Let the base coat dry completely first though!
