Hello friends! ![]()
I am looking for an easy candy clay recipe. I am thinking about making monkeys for a cake this weekend.
Also...what do you use to color candy clay??? Is it good for sculpting/making animals??? And can it be put in the refrigerator without getting messed up???
Any helpful tips would be great! ![]()
Thanks! ![]()
Bump !!! But would like to know the answers to the same questions![]()
Hi! The Wilton Candy Clay Recipe is pretty easy to make. You can get it from this site or go to Wilton.com. I have made monkeys out of candy clay before, you can go under the photos I have uploaded. I used milk chocolate, peanut butter, and white chocolate melts to make the monkeys and bananas. I made the figures ahead of time and on the day of I decorated the cake and also put in the fridge. I did not have any problems with it messing up. If it its in the fridge for more than several hours, you may get condensation on the figures. Candy clay is pretty easy to work with... just remember once you make the candy clay let it sit over night. When you start to work with it... it will be pretty hard, just keep kneading it and it will soften up. If you have any other questions, let me know. ![]()
Hello There!
I'm not sure if you've tried this already:
http://www.cakecentral.com/cake_recipe-1985-0-Candy-Clay-for-Modeling--3D-Figures.html?osCsid=181fdb2259d25a0f930d26deebe257f7
To color: Use Wilton food coloring. They work great.
Good Luck!
Hey everybody, I used to use only 1/3 c. syrup in the candy clay, but now use 2/3c. and it is a very nice consistency.
thanks for the tip bulldog! I'll have to try it out! ![]()
With my candy clay I use the CC recipe and when I am finished stirring I squesse out as much of the cocoa butter as I can. I find it is much easier to work with later. Try it out and HAVE FUN!!
