I was wondering if anyone had heard about when this competition was on and running. How do you get details? I have tried searching the web too. I am finding it extremely difficult to get in touch with anyone from the Cake decorators Guild, which I would like to join but seems like it is a secret society!! I really don't want to miss it this year I think it is about time I entered in an actual cake competition.

Hi there
Im not sure what you are talking about, can you give me more info? Sounds interesting ![]()
Also, have you tried to contact the Guild online or by phone? You will find that a lot of these places are run by older people, some of which dont have computers at all, or dont use them much if they do. In general if found, you will see that they are super helpful and very willing to accept new members. They are not secret societies by any means, just difficult to get in touch with but once you make contact you are going to find they are extremely willing to share and welcome you to the fold
and they're always looking for new members.
I am a member of the CDAV, but i dunno anyone that is a member of anything similar in NSW, try to get in touch with other CC members from NSW, as they may have more info to help you out, in the mean time i will contact a CDAV member that has been around for years, as she may have more info to help you out ![]()
Good luck!!

There is no secret society, sorry.
Challenge is on in September of every 2nd year (last September was the last one the next one will be 200
it runs in conjunction with Stitches & Craft Show at Rosehill Racecourse. It is bigger than the Royal Easter Show here. It has been only running at Rosehill twice before that it was at Roselands.
I am a member of the Guild if you need to know more just ask
Lyn
Ooops meant to add it's only on every 2nd year as the off year we have a Seminar which is in May this year. Seminar involves a weekend away (yeah) this year at Orange. There are many demonstrators, shops and a weekend of great fun, food and this year wine (we are staying at a winery). Also there is a competition individual or branch.
Nati is right the're are a lot of older ladies but what you learn from them you can't get from books. There is also a lot of younger people coming through our Br also caters for kids on separate days to the adults.
If you are interested I can give you a phone number for someone in your area randel. It would be too late to go to Seminar now though I'm pretty sure it's all booked up.
