Ok guys and girls...be kind here this is my first attempt at a "real" cake and it is for my daughters first birthday party tomorrow...so let me know what you think and i welcome tips on how i can improve for my next cake!

and i have a question to...its all buttercream and fondant..do i put it in the fridge for the night or do i leave in on the counter?

I think the cake looks wonderful! Great job. I love the butterflies!

If it's just regular bc and fondant, then no need to refridgerate, but it depends on what the filling in the cake is. Does the filling need to be refridgerated? It depends on the filling.....

GOOD JOB !!! I think a smaller tip for the "faces" would be the only thing I would change..... Take LOTS of pictures.... it is TWO "firsts", afterall !

You did a beautiful job on your first cake! Your bc is nice and smooth and your fondant looks good! How about a border on the top cake? Maybe to match the bottom border, or, a cute little flower border.

I thought that if you made buttercream with milk that it had to be refridgerated. Is that true? I think my Wilton teacher told me that, so I never use milk. I don't like the crusting of a non-milk buttercream though.

Yes, it is true if you make bc with milk you will need to refridgerate it.
