My friend and I took the classes together and it was pay for one person and the second person is free. So it was like $20 or $25 for two of us. Then we each got one of those 50% off coupons and used those to buy our kits. If you wait for the right time it's not too bad. Also, they try to rope you into buying a lot of unnecessary stuff, because that's were they make their money. They made us buy these little oval pans for one cake, and I've never used them again. If I did it over, I would have bought a set of cake pans that I knew I would use and just use that, it doesn't change what you're learning. Some other stuff they tell you to buy that you don't really need if you want to save some money in the beginning is : the leveler and the bake even strips. I never use them. The kit with the tool caddy is worth it. It's very hand for holding all your stuff, I still use mine. Anyway, this is probably more than you wanted to know, but hope it helps.
