Can you have 3 of the same size cakes and carve them at an angle to make it have the same effect. Any help with a topsy cake would mean a lot. Thanks everyone.

someone actually posted a link with instructions on a topsy turvy cake from Collette Peters book. I will keep my eye open for it.

i have yet to be brave enough to make one- but i do know that it makes sense to use 3 graduating sizes OR 3 of the same size and to carve. there is no reason why it would not work, as long as your cake has rested several hours to overnight (cooled and wrapped.) and chilling it will help in the carving.make sure you have a really sharp serrated knife. there is a tutorial link here on how to do topsy turvy cakes...i think it is under the articles tab.

Here is one. The other one showed the dowel diagram. I will keep looking.
