I'm putting the finishing touches on a cake and I ran out of frosting. I don't have the ingredients (or the desire) to make another full batch of buttercream. What I basically need it for is "glue". I need to adhere mini marshmallows around the outside of the cake. Anyone have any suggestions about what I could use to adhere these that would be quick? I thought about melting marshmallows but that's really sticky and gooey so not sure that would work. Any suggestions would be appreciated, thanks.

Do you have any piping gel on hand? Would a dab of water work? If your buttercream is non-crusting they might just stick on there by themselves...

Hmmm...what else...maybe a tiny dot of corn syrup if you have that on hand?

I have plenty of piping gel, would that work? if I dipped the bottom of the marshmallow into it??

no corn syrup on hand. at least I don't think so. I will check though.
