Not so sure on the RI. I know that it can be left out for a while or if it is uncolored, it can be frozen.

MMF can be stored in an airtight bag for a long time. It should have the shelf life of marshmallows, since it doesn't have any dairy or anything. I would just keep it out of sunlight. Then just microwave it for a few seconds to soften it up before using it.

royal icing can be kept on the counter for 2 weeks. Keep it out of sunlight if you have it colored.

MMF won't go bad, but it does start to crumble when you try and use it after awhile. I would say no more than 2 weeks?? But don't quote me on that. Maybe someone else can offer more info.

I have used mmf that is 6 months old without a problem. Tastes fine, and have no trouble working with it. I use the mmf recipe that has crisco in it though.

I have kept my MMF for quite some time and it is fine. I wrap it in plastic and then put it in Tupperware. I don't have any problem with the colors, except for purple, it tends to change a little, goes blueish purple, but I just knead it and add more color.

As for the RI, I read somewhere that you should put plastic wrap on the surface and re-mix it every day, but I have kept it in an airtight container and just re-mix it before I use it.
