I need to make a fondant lid for a cake and want to put an
edible image on it, but the only ones I see advertised look like they
are transferred to either buttercream or royal.

Or is there a better way to transfer an image to fondant?

I've heard that you can, you just mist the top of the fondant with water in a spray bottle....not too much though because it can make the fondant gummy.........but beware too that the edible image edges will show up if your fondant is colored and the image is white around the edge. If the image is not too complicated...a nice way to do an image on fondant is to print out the photo and cut each piece out like a puzzle and use them like a template and trace over fondant pieces in the appropriate color and cut them out then put the "puzzle" back together again on the fondant cake!

I have an order for a cigar box cake, and I would like to put the cigar label on the top or inside of a fondant box lid. That's why I was thinking about fondant. Will anyone print a cigar label or will that add legal problems to the mix??
