I am doing my first wedding cake for next weekend (4/22), and I want a seashell themed cake. I want to do white chocolate seashells with pearl dust on them, but I have two questions: Are soap molds safe to use for white chocolate? Is the pearl dust edible? (I haven't bought it yet)

I have heard that the soap molds are fine to use with food such as chocolates, fondant, gumpaste, etc. (I could be wrong though LOL...it's been known to happen)....the pear luster dust I get is...there is some confusion about it as I understand...it's considered non edible in some places and the fda doesn't consider it a food item...all in all.......I use it, I eat it, and I'm still alive and healthy....so I say yes!!!

On some of the sites they say the molds can be used for either/or. As far as the luster dust, I use it, eat it , as well as family and friends. I think if live in England it's an ok. thing.

If they are brand new soap molds, I don't see why not, but maybe e-mai the manufacturer just to be sure.

I have heard that most soap molds are fine, as long as they have never been used to make soap yet.
Pearl Dust should be fine.
