I made my 1st cake the other day for Easter. Here it is....
I needed to get the stars a bit closer together, but I think it turned out great.
Great Job! It's hard to get those stars close...wonder if there's a trick? If that's your first cake, great things ahead for you...you're a natural!
That is the cutest bunny on earth! You have my total admiration for this being your first cake. JWD (Job Well Done!) Think I read on CC a suggestion to frost the cake first with the same color frosting & then apply the stars.... does that make sense? Hear tell that way if the stars aren't quite close enough together that it isn't seen as easily. Hope this helps & keep those cake pix coming!
Nice cake--bet your kiddos loved it! What number star tip did you use? Looks more textured than mine usually do(which I like!).
Have fun decorating cakes--you are in for a fun treat!
Very cute bunny!!

I read that too! Although, without a base coat on it, you got those stars reall close! Great job, Jen
Good job on your cake.
Their is a three star tip you can use and it goes by faster then using a one star tip by wilton.
Absolutely darling bunny, and fantastic first cake. Bet your hand was tired. Quick critique from my heart and not meant to hurt, next time let your lovely decorating skills speak for itself......no "chocolate" sprinkles.
Leave that type of embellishment to the less talented.

I am confused, what do you mean?? lol I didn't use sprinkles???
You did A Great job

I think that tiptop57 thought that the space between your stars was choco sprinkles.
Lizzie
TipTop... I think that's the chocolate cake peeking through. I, too, though that was crushed cookies or something on top...figured out it's the cake.
OMG 247mama - I'm so very embarrassed.
(If the bits aren't chocolate sprinkles are they cake crumbs?)
Size nine shoe stuffed into a size six mouth.
Please forgive me.
LOL!!
I thought the same too but I realized it was the little spaces in between your stars.
Oooooh spaces between the stars Now I understand......okay, here is a pointer for next time......crumb coat first the same color as the stars and then won't see the spaces. I'm such a geek. So sorry.......
.................but the bunny is really cute!!!!!!!!
he's adorable! i had the same trouble with my boys' first birthday cake. then i learned to frost first, then fill with stars. i hope you continue to stay with us and share more masterpieces! what flavors are we looking at?
Are you sure this is your first? You did a great job on it, it's adorable, keep this picture and do the same cake next easter to see how far you have come. By the way, how is your wrist feeling after all the stars? Gets sore, doesn't it? Great job, I want a BIG piece, please.
It is chocolate cake with buttercream frosting. It turned out really well. My hand kinda hurt a bit and my Dd keep trying to 'help' so I tried to get it done fast. Thanks for the tip of frosting before. That is a great idea.
