Just getting ready bake and reliazed I might need one of these I have never made a cake this size my first time using my 11 x 15 pan!!!!
I just made an 11 x 15 cake today. Let me tell you what I do with this size. I grease a couple flower nails and evenly space them on the pan before pouring the batter in. This has always worked well for me. I cooked it at 325 and checked it after about 27 min. I think it ended up needing another 7-9 minutes.
Wow I've been slacking off all day!!! I have so much to o for this cake an I have fallen behind alreay I'm gonna be up all night tomorrow finishing this cake. Anyways I was freaking out cause I thought this size cake would take a really long time I guess I do have two flower nails I can use instead of buying a heating core I don't have anyways do you use the baking strips too? I have to bake three cakes tonight to decorate tomorrow!!!!
I do the same as LoriMc except I put them in the cake pan (coated well) and put my parchment or wax paper over them, poking them through the paper, first time I tried the nails them floated into the cake as it was baking, the paper method works great for me removing them from the cake as well. Good luck with all your baking.
I have the 11x14 wilton pan. I never use anything. I bake at 325 for 42 minutes. I use grease and flour. I only had trouble once when I used a strawberry cake mix. For some reason the strawberry did not pop out of the pan. I made it twice! All other flavors have been fine. Good luck.
