Hello,

I was just wondering if anyone has made chocolate swirls before. Did you just melt the chocolate, put it in a decorating bag, make designs on wax paper and then freeze it? Any tips would be greatly appreciated!!

Yep, that's exactly what I did,....then I let the swirls sit out overnight, but I didn't freeze them....can you freeze chocolate? I thought chocolate was really sensitive to temperature changes.

Hi!! icon_smile.gif Thanks for the reply!! I do have time to let the chocolate sit out overnight...maybe I will try that instead of freezing it. I haven't worked with chocolate at all so this will be my 1st attempt!!

I have made chocolate swirls and stuck them in the freezer for a little while and put them on my cake. They turned out fine. They only stayed in the freezer maybe 20 minutes at the most. The house was hot that day and it was taking too long for the chocolate to harden so I popped them in the freezer. They didn't turn white, maybe because they didn't stay in there that long.

Sometimes, when you freeze chocolate it can get a kind of white coating on it. It doesn't ruin the taste, though. I have frozen chocolate chips, bought them in bulk and saved to make cookies or to go in cakes and they always tasted good.
