I saw on a website putting lace and fondant in a pasta roller to get a nice victorian effect and then cut out and put on cut out cookie?

Has anyone every tried that - is it easy - how does it look?

I´ve heard about the lace to give a texture but I´ve never tried the pasta roller idea. Sorry!

now that i re-read your original post, i know exactly what you are talking about! i saw this being done at another site or maybe tv. They took a piece of lace and rolled it with the fondant. to give the cake the "wedding dress" look. now i have never tried it, but it look awesome. it's something i definately wanna try. Just where to get that lace?! Ragshop or walmart maybe...hmm.
I would assume it's easy since all you are doing is rolling both things at the same time. of course i could be wrong... icon_rolleyes.gif Then again, now that i remember when i saw this on tv (or wherever it was) they used an electrical pasta machine, not the one i have which has a handle.
Then all you have to do is cut it and attach it to the cookie w/some corn syrup.

Sorry, it wasn't a video (I should have said that).

I only have a crank one too - but why wouldn't it work with just a rolling pin? I was just wondering if anyone did it and how it really did look.

It looks so pretty.......and I figured with Mother's Day coming... thumbs_up.gif

I got some lace at Walmart and I'm going to try it this weekend.

Yum, yum, more cookies.

I would like to know too! I've used lace as a template for luster dust. I did a bustier (sp?) and laid the lace on the fondant and then "stenciled" the luster dust on it. I found the rolling pin just wasn't enough for what I wanted......maybe if I had done the rolling pin and then highlighted the lace with the luster dust? ....just a thought.
