I want to try some of the Americolor's after hearing all of the rave reviews, but how does the gel compare with the consistnecy (sp) of Wilton paste colors? I want to try the black and red, as I am tired of using 2 jars of each everytime I want a deep color. Does it stain mouths and teeth as bad as the Wilton? TIA

I love Americolor. You get great results. Super Red and Super Black are awesome - I buy them in the big bottles.

I would say the consistency of the gel color itself is slightly thinner than Wilton's. It is thin enough to get out of their squirt bottle containers but I have not found that it affects the consistency of my icing any differently.

Yes, it does stain your mouth just like Wilton's colors do. But I just don't think there is a way around that, no matter what brand you use.

There is NO comparison! It's wonderful! I love being able to squirt it out of the bottle as opposed to scooping it out of the little jar. You don't ue as much either. You will use less of the red and black also & I think it tastes better than wilton. My friend just commented the other day that my colored frosting doesn't stain your teeth like some others. I would definetly recommend it!

You will NOT be disappointed buying Americolor. NO nasty taste, I have NO bleeding of colors. Just awesome. Chef Master colors are also good.

You will be happy with your choice.

I use both. SOme of the Americolors are really nice.

If you want to make black...shart with chocolate frosting to cut way down on the amount of color needed!!!!

No taste red is much better than the one that is flavored...
