OK, I have a cake due this weekend and it is for 30 people. I am using the Wilton hexagon pans. It is not a tiered cake. I don't know which pan to use the 12 inch says it has 34 party serving, but it just seems small. The 15 inch says is has 48 party serving, but it seems to big. Which would you use. I know this is probably a really dumb question. But I don't want to deliver the cake and have the people think "that is a small cake". What do you think?

is it a paying customer? if so explain what their options for servings are with that type of pan, and let them pick what they want. as earlene moore says on her site, you can't always make a cake for the exact number of servings you want. sometimes you have to go up or down. (ie, she can serve 95 or 105 peopls, not 100). if its just for friends or family, i say do you want leftovers? if not, go with the 12 inch and it'll all get eaten up.

Yes, it is for a paying customer. Duh, why didn't I think to call her. I am waiting for a call back. I will ask what she wants. Thanks!

the hex pan does erve less than the same size round pan yet usuas the same amount or materials and takes longer to do a good job frosting.

I charge the same as the round and let them know they get less servings.
