I've seen so many beautiful cake boards and read about using foam core, so I decided to try it for a cake this weekend.

My question is - how do I cut it and still have a nice clean edge? I'm going to cover the board with wrapping paper then contact paper, with a ribbon around the edge, but I need it to be straight and clean.

Thanks!

I use the Black & Decker Cordless Power Scissors. Cuts clean with very little effort. Here's what it looks like.

I use a box cutter or a sharp utility knife, which ever I find first. I cut only through the top layer from one side and then bend it to create a crease to cut from the other side. This seems to give a smoother edge for me. Hope this helps!

Thank you - sounds like I need to try it with a few different things and see what works best for me. Thanks for your responses.
