they have to cook for quite some time...every time I cook in the pyrex bowls......for the doll cakes, etc. they take over an hour easily.........because the batter is deeper you need to bake it longer than a normal cake pan. If the top is browning too much you might try loosely covering the top with foil to keep it from browning further and continue to bake the cake, checking for doneness every so often. Oh, and don't remove it from the oven when checking for doneness or jossle the pan too much, that can cause it to sink too.
