Well, I talked to the lady I work with whose nephew's bride was making the wedding cake herself and they were calling me about the problems and such.
Well, she told me that she did take my advice and use dowels to support the cake and they did use seperator plates between the layers. yay.
I guess she did have to start over with the cakes themselves at some point and lost 9 hours of work because she didn't like the way it looked or some such. Anyway, sounds like the cake did end up turning out fine. She covered all four tiers in fondant and then used ribbon at the base of each tier like what's in lately and then fresh flowers on top...so she wasn't really doing much decorating.
Whew, glad she didn't end up with a cake disaster! I don't think she'll be volunteering to do anyone else's wedding cake any time soon though ![]()

I was wondering what had happened. Sometimes it is better to just dive in and not know what you are getting yourself into. (I said SOMETIMES) But as long as she was happy with her cake - that is what matters in the end! Do you have access to a picture?? I'm curious...

I probably won't have access to the cake and I don't really want to ask for a copy of it or anything because she might wonder why...I don't really want her to know I was talking about it because it is a little gossipy for me to do so ![]()
Anyway, maybe she'll have a website up with pics sometime though and if she does, I'll be sure to snatch up a pic![]()
