I did a wedding cake in January that had a lot of cornelli lace on and never had a problem. We didn't have to tilt the cake or anything. Are you doing the cornelli lace in buttercream, like the rest of the cake? Then it will adhere just fine. If you were doing it in royal for some reason, maybe it wouldn't, I don't know, but there's really no need to do in in royal.
Good luck!
Also, make sure your icing isn't, too thick. I've had really stiff icing before and it won't adhere to the cake right if I try and do cornelli. I always thin my icing out a bit and work as quickly as you can. Good Luck with your cake! ![]()
I used buttercream on my cornelli lace wedding cake and had no problems at all. Just work really close to the cake. Good luck! ![]()
My problem was having the icing too thin and it just dribbled all over the place. Everyone at work thought it was fabulous but I knew that I blew it and need to practice more.
