Hi everyone,
I'm making my first stacked cake using dummies, and I'm not so sure how to do it. I'm not sure if there is anyway to hold the cakes together or if they will just stick together if I wet the fondant a little? Also, do you have to round the edges of the dummies first or can you use them as they are? Thanks so much!!-Alison

You can just glue them with royal or Hot glue even.

I do not round my edges.

what do you mean by "round the edges?"
I just got some cake dummies in the mail today and still haven't opened up the box. Guess I should go check them out, huh?

You don't have to round the edges, but it depends on how you like the look of your cake.

Hot glue ..... doesn't this prevent you from using them over again?

I do not use them ever again! That is why I have a room full of competition cakes!!

I have only hot glued them for display and not competition...the whole all edible factor!

moydear....why don't you use them again? And what do you do with the dummies after you've used them? Keep them around?

The larger cakes are competition and most of these cakes have 30 plus hours into them!

I just rather start new!!

If you look on my competition gallery on my site there is a nice inventory of cakes I have!

Yes they have a home in my storage room! Maybe I should rent them out!

moydear....the couture wedding cake in the competition section - was that televised on the food network? I remember watching a competition years ago where the wedding cake category had a theme of couture.
