Quick Question, if i wanted to make a Loop Bow for a cake for Saturday...
Would you use fondant/gumpaste or just one of them? For it to dry fast and hard? And would you assemble it before you put on the cake or "on" the cake?

Oh one more thing do you prefer Royal icing or butter cream icing for "glue"???

TIA

I would use straight gumpaste so that it will dry quickly. To put it together, i like melted chocolate, and i build my bows on the back of a cake pan in the same size as the cake top, i just tape a piece of waxed paper to the top.

So gumpaste makes a good loop bow? Do you buy the prepackaged kind? Also does it color well?

Yes,
gumpaste does colour well. You can set it aside and it dries really fast.
Your bowe will be lovely.
You can make it off the cake (less room for errors and damaging your finished cake) and once it is dry enough just move it to your cake top.
good luck Claire
