Alright--my kitchen and dining room are empty!!!
No more cakes!!! Delivered and set-up lighthouse cake to fundraiser. They asked if they could auction it off. I'm soooo flattered!!!
This was the first fundraiser that used the tablescapes idea. I think they will repeat it next year. And I hope they ask me to participate again.

That is one incredible cake! How long did it take you, all told? I'd be scared to even attempt something like that yet.

I bet they got a tidy little sum auctioning it, too. Congratulations!

Mac,

You did an Outstanding job on the lighthouse cake. It is breathtaking!!! Plus all the cookies, they turned out really well too. I love the way you placed them in the hurricane glass with "sand" and candles. What a wonderful party favor!!!

I know you are very proud as well you should be!!!
Congratulations on a wonderful accomplishment!!

Wow I just had a look, mind boggling. Did you set it up at the venue or did you transport the cake finished? It's awesome.

Thanks everybody.

I am really proud of that. So proud that I called my family to come to the museum to see and nobody came. Went and picked up my Grandma b/c she doesn't drive. Called DH and he said "take a picture". My best friend helped with the set-up--she was so happy and proud, too. She knew I was looking for that perfect cake and moment to really showcase. Now off to do 2 baby shower cakes for tomorrow.

Sad news--the silent and live auction items were already set up. None of the tablescape centerpieces went on the auction block. Oh well, I took the cake to our Rescue Mission here. I know they will enjoy it, they don't get cake very often.

Good news--they are donig it again next year and all participants were invited back. My creative cap is on again!!!

That's to bad, I'm sorry to hear that. But it sounds like you took it pretty well, and I'm sure the Rescue Mission did appreciate it! And it really was a fabulous cake, can't wait to see what you come up with next year!
