I know I have posted a lot today but having trouble with my MMF today. I had posted in another thread about MMF and someone suggested I add gumpaste to my MMF. I have never used gumpaste but I bought some pre-made gumpaste at Michael's today. I'm about to make another batch of MMF and was going to add the gumpaste to the MMF. I am making 3D penguin figurines. AT what point do I add the gumpaste? Do I make the batch of MMF and then add gumpaste to it while it's in the mixer?? Any advice would be appreciated, thanks.

I usually mix them together by hand. Just don't try doing it all at once. I do about a golf ball size of each and mix together.
I haven't used MMF with gumpaste, but I have used Wilton's fondant with gumpaste - only to make non-edibles.
I am guessing here that you should wait until the MMF is totally done and rested, then use 1/2 MMF and 1/2 gumpaste.
With the Wilton fondant, you take a piece of fondant roughly half the size of the project you are going to be working on, and add to that a piece of gumpaste that is roughly the other half of what you need for the project. Then you knead them together until they are pliable.
Make sure to keep the part that you are not currently working with, either wrapped in plastic wrap or in a ziplock bag.
HTH and good luck!

Not really familiar with MMF but when I add gumpaste to fondant (SatinIce; Pettinice; white chocolate rolled fondant), it's when I'm actually getting ready to make something, a bow for example.
Pinch off enough of your MMF then as doescakestoo suggested, mix/knead by hand just the amount you need.
edit: and LadyMike. (we must have been posting at the same time)
I agree with the "small amounts". I have a friend who mixes fondant and gumpaste 50/50. I use a little less gumpaste than fondant. The MMF must be "cured" and ready to use before you add the gumpaste. Knead the parts by hand. Too much gumpaste will cause dry cracking and look bad if your items are very big at all.
