Birdhouse Cake Help Quick Please!

Hi friends! I just know someone out here will have a great solution for me!
I am making a birdhouse cake for a b-day party tomorrow. Initially the mom asked for a cake that would serve 30 people. No problem, I thought I'd just make two cakes using the house pan and put them back to back.
Today she called and said that everyone invited to the party IS attending, so now she needs it to feed 40. I'm afraid I won't have enough with the two mixes and need to add a third, but I can't think of how to incorprate it into my design.
I thought of adding a 9x13 as a base and using a cake board and straws to hold the birdhouse on top of it, but I'm afraid the bird house will be too heavy on top of the 9x13 and sink.
Can anyone help me? I have to bake the cakes this morning/afternoon so I can decorate tonight. Any help is GREATLY appreciated!! Thanks, Tammy
Make a few 8 or 10 inch squares and stack.Cut out the triangle part to make the roof. That will feed your 40 people!!
The house cake on the 9x13 will be just fine. I have placed a shaped cake on a sheet cake several times in the last 15 years that I have been doing cakes with no problems.
If the cake has to travel very far I have put a plastic dowel in the sheet cake just for added protection. I would also put the bird house on a cardboard.
I hope this helps. Please post a picture - I love to look at cake pictures.
I just found this site about 1 week ago & haven't had a chance to get any pictures downloaded. I'm not sure how to do that just yet.
Thank you for the quick reponses!
Do you really think the 9x13 would work as a base? This will be my first time using the house pan. I just wonder if having the 2 houses together on top will hold? It does have to travel about 20 minutes in the car to the craft store where the kids are making bird houses at the party.
Ok, I'm getting the first house pan in the oven. There's still time. Any other ideas?
I have a cake I did and I placed a cake board under the house just as you would a stacked cake. I used a 12 inch round under mine but 9x13 will do fine. I put a couple of dowels in it and had no problem. here is my house pic. http://www.cakecentral.com/modules.php?name=coppermine&file=displayimage&meta=allby&uname=sue_dye&cat=0&pos=17
Thank you all so much! I'm going to try it with the 9x13 base and a cake board. Wish me luck!
