does any one else get VERY bothered when you tell your DH to come eat and he waits bc he is "busy"???? IT MAKES ME SOO MAD! like i wasnt just stopping everything so i could make friggin dinner for your stupid self!

(ahh...just venting!)
my problem like that are the kids....... not DH and yes it is very upsetting...
It doesn't bother me at all...but my MIL is like that. Somebody wil be in a conversation and she will be like come eat dinner. You guys come eat dinner...come eat dinner all within 3 seconds. She is one of those people you need to jump when she says so I just take my time.
I don't mind it as long as they don't take F-O-R-E-V-E-R. I hate having to stop what i was in the middle right when someone says stop. It usually doesn't take me very long to get to a safe place to stop(so when i'm done eating or whatever they needed me for i don't have to jump right back).
My main problem is THE PHONE!!! it seems like every time we sit down to eat the phone goes off and DH can't just ignore it. So I sit there listening to him talking to SOMEONE ELSE rather than me!!!
I should just take it off the hook!!! I never remember until it's toooooo late though!!!
im def. not the kind of person who expects someone to just drop whatever they are doing bc i WANT them to, but he is just messing around, and it always takes him like 20 min! so i have to leave the stove on, and all kinds of stuff, i end up eating alone, and he isnt even doing anything important, or someone will call! and if i think ahead and tell him like 10 min before, "ok dinner is ready" he will be there in a second..but it's ONLY the times i think ahead, and then it bites me! ![]()
Hello!
I know what you mean! In my house it's the children. i start to tell them they have to come (shut down the computer, tv and: GO TO THE TOILET!!!!!"No we don't have to go")
and it usually ends in me being upset i am the only one sitting at the table.
and when everybody sits and has a plate full of dinner there is always a child who finds out he/she has to go to the toilet but "when you called i really didn't have to" ![]()
(and so on for a nice dinner
)
I usually (very loudly) tell the children to go & wash their hands b/c it's time to eat. (so I figure this is his warning, lol)
I make their plates, they come right tothe table~no problems unless they don't like it. LOL
So, if dh still isn't at the table, I make his plate and set it on the table. I've learned that this seems to help....in the nice voice I have, i say: sweetheart, will you be joining us for dinner this evening? And, he jumps right up!
Thats not how it used to be.
I really do think men can be trained! LOL!!!!!! (isn't it nice to have a place to vent?!?!?!)
