30 Cups Of Icing... Is That Enough?

Will that be enough to fill, crumb coat & cover 6", 8", 10" & 12" square double layer cakes? I'm making all my frosting ahead of time and I'm so worried that won't be enough... but it should be according to Wilton's chart. I also made 3 cups of red icing for the scrolls on the side & bottom border (she doesn't want a top one). Will that be enough? I just hate to have to run out to get more powdered sugar since we're supposed to get 8 inches of snow tomorrow ![]()
It should be enough - I find that I don't always use all of what the Wilton chart says. That being said - I also always make sure I have enough ingredients to make at least one, sometimes two, more batches just in case!

If I was baking that cake, it would be 7 cake mixes..... I use less than one 2-lb bag of powdered sugar per mix, so depending on the number of decorations (roses, borders, etc) I'd use about 4-5 bags of sugar and probably have some left over. I never measure in "cups" of icing (my gosh, how do you guys do that?) .... i figure number of bags of sugar to number of bags of mixes.
I "measure" in cups because one batch of my buttercream is approx. 3 cups. I just take the total cups recommended and divide by 3 and adjust from there. For instance, if I am filling with BC then I will make the full amount; if I am covering in fondant I won't make all of it because I don't need as much BC to cover the cake with, etc....

I have it on a Price Matrix that was sent to me a long time ago - don't remember who sent it!

I think you can look on Wilton's website also and they will tell you, but I'm not sure.
