How do you color coconut? I'd like to do an easter cake and I need to color coconut - pastel pink, blue, yellow, and green. Any help would really be appreciated. icon_smile.gif

I want to know too. I want to make cupcakes and put green coconut in the shape of a nest and put jelly beans in them.

I have put coconut in a ziplock baggie with a few drops of food coloring and just shake the bag. Worked for me! Good luck

Just add a little food color to the coconut in a bowl and mix untill your satisfied with the color. You can always add more food color if neccessary.

Great! Thanks to all - I'll give it a try. Your using regular food coloring right? Not the gel type.

It does not matter which type of coloring. It's what ever your prefrence is or what ever you have in the pantry. It could be gel, food color or powder.

Hey guys - if you have an airbrush - you can airbrush the coconut. I used to work in a grocery store bakery and it worked like a charm. Just put it in a bowl, spray it the color you want, mix it up and it distributes pretty evenly. But this past Christmas, I wanted to color some coconut green and I used Wilton's airbrush cans - that worked also!
