Hi, I'm making a Duncan Hines strawberry cake and I need some flavoring ideas for the buttercream and filling. Can you help me out?

Why not use fresh strawberries as a filling???? They taste great and are beautiful in the cake. Chop them up in small pieces and mix them in strawberry glaze-usually in the produce section....everyone loves it.

I have mixed strawberry preserves with buttercream and used as a filling. It's quite tasty!

I made a chocolate cake last week, with chocolate dipped strawberries on top, but I made a strawberry filling that was yummy and would probably work for your cake as well. I pureed fresh strawberries and added a couple tablespoons of regular gran. sugar and stirred well and set aside in the fridge to let the sugar absorb well. Later I stirred it really well to make sure the sugar had dissolved completely and then I made fresh whipped cream and after getting it good and stiff folded in the strawberry puree, it was so yummy and had just the right combo of sweet/tart.

There is a strawberry cream filling on the website in the recipe section that is quite good.
