I love to do cakes but I stink at ideas icon_sad.gif I have a cake coming up for a spa day at my church for our Mothers of preschoolers (MOPS) group.

It is a spa day (evening) and we are having massages, manicures, pedicures and facials. I am making a cake that will feed about 20-25 people.

Any great ideas would be awesome!

Thanks!

Ashlee

You could get into the theme by doing a cake that looks like a massage table, or one that looks like a hot tub. Accessories would be sugarpaste manicure implements, massage oil, etc.

Or you could take it in an entirely different direction and make a tiered cake with a waterfall - plush tropical flowers and rock formations surrounding it. Very relaxing to look at.

The massage bed sounds good-maybe add a face down body (from the lower back up to the head) on top of the bed. Wrap the head in a towel, and have perfectly manicured fingers/hands on the back-massaging with the hot rocks and/or oil? Add some lavender for relaxation?

There's a super cute cake in the gallery. It's a cake of a bubble bath with a Barbie pick with a towel around her head & cucumber slices on her eyes. You could set the tub cake on a square or round bottom cake layer in order to have more servings.

My spa day would be sleeping in a big bed with a box of bonbon's and a breakfast tray on the side and a do not disturb sign on the door. Okay, back to your cake. I like the idea of a massage table with a body face down, draped with a towel. You could put those stones along the backbone.

Doug had the same idea that I did. I think that would just be perfect!!!! Im positive there a few cakes posted in the galleries that were made previously in the same theme.

I think that the spa idea is great, but I would probably do the tropical cake (as there are easier pre-made additions you can find for a tropical theme). Good luck, and I'd love to see the cake once you're done, i'd love to see it!
Good luck!

I have seen a really cute cake that is made to look like a bottle of nail polish. It looks like a bunch of 8 or 9 in rounds stacked on top of each other with smaller rounds or some sort of device used for the top. You could mold this out of rice krispies if you wanted to cover it in fondant, or make it out of carboard or such if you dont want too much cake. Just an idea! Good Luck!
