For everyone who has used the homemade MMF recipes.....how many pounds does it make?? I'm trying to figure out how many batches I need to cover a 10" and 6" round cake. I hate the wilton stuff and this is just a practice cake so I don't feel like spending a fortune on Satin Ice for it when I can make MMF for a few bucks!!

So, I guess my question is....how many pounds is it considered? How big of a cake will one batch cover??

Thanks so much!!!
Valerie

it really depends on which recipe you use. how much sugar and how much marshmallows? usually if you got the recipe from here then it should say how much the recipe yields or maybe you could pm the person who posted the recipe and ask.

My castle cake was a 10" & 6". I covered it with mmf. Used recipe which called for approx 450 gms mmf and 900 gms sugar.

I covered a 9" round 4" high and a 6" round 4" high cake with 1 batch and I had leftovers. The particular recipe I used was:

I don't know how many lbs but it is plenty to do what you want.
