I'd like to learn more about gumpaste flowers, people, and animals as well as using molds to decorate sides of fondant cakes and butter cream to get that "lace" look. There's so many books out there and I don't want to waste my money. I have Collette Peters and Dede Wilson books but I'm looking for more instructional books. What do you think abou the Nicholas Lodge books? Please let me know what your favorite books are that you have learned from.

I really like the International School of Sugarcraft books. There are 3 books.
Book 1 - Beginners
Book 2 - Advanced
Book 3 - New Skills and Techniques
I have all three, but I am still very much a beginner and have really only used book 1 so far. I have leafed through the others and hopefully, I'll get to try some of the techniques soon. ![]()

Thanks HTH, those were the ones I was looking at on the internet and considering but you know how it is when you can't "look" inside the book.

Ooops, sorry Penny....giggle...all of these abreviations can drive one nuts. Thanks for the info!

Hi Jacqui, I see you are new, just wanted to say welcome to CC.
If you go down to the "General" Forum there is a topic at the very top that has an Acronyms list that will help you understand some of the lingo.
One of my favorite books is "The Essential Guide To Cake Decorating", I like it because it has information on just about everything about cake decorating. Found it on eBay, it was published in 2001 by a company called Whitecap. Janice
