I need as many ideas as I can get from you guys, because I have thought about this so much that I have a serious headache.
I have to back a cake for the weekend of the 26th I think. Its actually gonna be a combo event with the inlaws. Easter, 2 male birthdays, an anniversary and mother's day all in one. I know it sounds really weird to combine all of those into one theme. TIA. OOPS its is the weekend of the 22nd.
How about a easter bunny on a small cake then the other one can be small gift box cakes. If you do not have a 4" square cake pan cut down 1/4 sheet - one 1/4 sheet will give two double lake cakes or just 4 single layer cakes. You can make each one a differant color to make easter - pale pink. light blue, light green and light yellow to go around the easter them cake.
they can have a white bow with a gift tap you can "happy birthday" etc.
If it were me in your place I would seriously consider going eclectic; as in maybe a large three-tiered cake, with each tier representing one of the events being celebrated. It could look really cool if the colors all worked well together, if your Easter part was done in bright Spring colors rather than pastels. Like the bottom could be a large 16 inch with a grassy look to it with Easter eggs nestled, the next layer could be the birthday layer with something representing the birthdays(sports or fishing gear etc) and then the top could be some pretty flowers for Mother's day...
How about a bunny bearing gifts? You could do a 3-D bunny in chocolate (since it's more masculine) sitting in coconut green grass, and he could be holding a small birthday cake with "happy birthday" and their names. For the Mother's Day part, maybe he could have a bouquet of flowers lying next to him with a small tag that says "mom". I'm not sure of how to incorporate the anniversary, but I'm sure that someone here has a great idea. Maybe just the number written somewhere, or even a sign stuck in the grass that says something like "to Jack and Jill's 15th anniversary party" with an arrow. Good luck!
In one of the Wilton yearbooks they used the petal pans and made each "leaf" look like a basket.. With each basket being a different color basketweave... Just a thought.. each person could have their own thing... Maybe put a bunny in the middle or something...
All of your ideas are great..I thought last night around midnight I could do little bunnies having a party (Birthday) I could make a bunny bride and groom....and a mommy bunny with her children bunnies...and place them like in different areas of the cake...and make the background look like it is outside..barring I get my new airbrush by then. Right now I have to go do a birthday cake and its storming AGAIN. Pray the light don't go out.
