Ive been an amateur baker for about two months or so and I need help looking for a good cake supply store. I've tried the Wilton fondant but the taste was awful. Ive been making MMF because it tastes better. If I can find a fondant that is already made would be great. I still need to master my marshmallow fondant skills. I would like to try other brands of fondant without having to order them on line.

Thanks icon_rolleyes.gif

I am 30 minutes out of palm springs in riverside county. I only know of 2 places. California cake decorating and supply in Redlands and Pilar's Pantry in Temecula. I'd love to know if there are any other places also.

I'm very new to this also and live in Cypress, Orange County.
Wish I could help on where to find a cake supply store. I'm also looking for a place where I can find things that would make decorating a cake just a little easier for me.
I only do cakes for family, I haven't even graduated to doing them for friends yet. Though I do use them as guinea pigs when I try a new recipe.

I am glad I read this, I did not know of the place in Temecula. I will have to check it out sometime. I go to "Do It With Icing" down here in San Diego which is fabulous. Up in L.A. I go to "Kake Kreations". Those are probably 1 hour north and 1 hour south of you, but if you are heading out either of those ways....

I'm in Costa Mesa/Santa Ana area, not too far from South Coast Plaza. Hmm...my hubby saw a supply store it is off main.. cross streets are dyer/mcarthur but on main street. There are a bunch of auto stores, carpet stores...ect.. I don't know the name. It's open to the public. Hubby said he'll swing by the place for me soon and check it out...get the name etc...if you like I could get you that info once hubby checks. icon_smile.gif

The one closest to you would be Orange Novelty Cake Supplies, they are at 3625 west macarthur blvd suite 305. Santa Ana, ca 92704 (714)556-4661.
My favorites are Calico Cake shop and ABC Cake Decorating of course its because they are the two closest to me. But they all have very nice people, they will answer any questions you have. Calico also offers cake decorating classes and one-day workshops.

Calico is at 7321 orangethorpe ave. buena park, ca 90621 (714)521-2761
ABC is at 429 N. Tustin St. Orange,ca 92867 (714) 633-2055

I am in the Ontario area. I've only been to 2 supply shops. Suzy's Sweettooth in Montclair and Pila's Pantry in Norco. I just found Pila's a few weeks ago and that will be my permanent shop of choice. Suzy's does carry a lot of stuff, but I prefer Pila's.

BTW, Pila's Pantry is hosting a dinner with Collette Peters this Friday, April 13th where she will speak and give a demo. Just in case anyone in the area was interested. icon_smile.gif

I like both Do It With Icing in San Diego and ABC Cake Decorating in Orange. I didn't know Temecula had a shop, I'm going to have to check that out too!
