I will give a little info on the background of my cake before I detail it. I am attending a movie convention in June and have been invited to make a cake for them. This is a huge deal for me as this is the first time thousands of people will be seeing my cake, and not only thousands of people, but some of the biggest directors and actors in the horror industry. Ok, back to the cake. I will be making two 20x14 inch rectangles and one 8-in round, all 4 inches each. They will all be iced in buttercream. The 2 rectangular cakes will have 3 heads sculpted and painted out of fondant each, so total of 6 heads, with 4 of them being placed on 2 inch platforms. Then there will also be more things added to the cake, such as a butcher knife, chainsaw, machette, ect...all going for the theme and made of fondant. There are also RI runouts to put on the top and sides of the cakes. I also made approx. 75 small to large gumpaste roses to be put on the cake and 12 more extra large gumpaste roses to be placed around the table.

I have never sold a cake before, and this one is also a freebie cake as well, but after all the time I put into the cake and all the detail, I was just wondering how much a cake like this would actually sell for. This is a very eccentric cake. I am hoping to open my business next year,s o maybe I can stop doing all these freebie cakes, but at least I am getting practice...lol

I would say at least 250.00 - 350.00. thats a pretty big cake and a whole lot of time and talent invested.
