I am going a last minute baby shower cake for my mother. I want to do the face of a baby, but I don't know how to make the 'flesh' color. All I have are the Wilton colors to use (I hear Americolor is great but no one sells around here I don't guess).

Please help me.

You can use ivory to get flesh tone and I add just a touch (a dot) of pink to give it more of a natural look.

You can use a tiny bit of copper. I know it sounds weird but it really works.

I use the Americolor copper...I'm not sure if Wilton has that.

I have a bottle of "flesh" food coloring. I got it at my cake supply store. the brand is Cake Craft.

Wilton sells a "flesh" color but my personal preference is copper.

Lol, that is what I was thinking. Flesh comes in many colors.

I've used white, with equal amounts of brown and yellow. Mix the 3 and you get "flesh"

I used creamy peach with a touch of ivory (wilton colors) on the baby for the baby shower cake my best friend and I did.

Yes, "copper" is the way to go. You can achieve several skin tones from copper depending on how much you add. I start with a tiny amount on a toothpick, blending well before adding more.

Just a tad of Wilton copper will do...

I feel the need to emphasize...wilton copper is what I use too, but USE THE TEENIEST, TINIEST AMOUNT POSSIBLE to start with. I've made my share of bizarre, sunburned looking skin tone!! icon_redface.gif

I think copper looks best as well if you are looking to make caucasian skin. Ivory has too much of a yellow undertone, but perfect for an asian looking skin tone!
