Are there any cake supplies store around here. Hamie told me about Elizabeth's and of course Michaels sells Wilton stuff, But I was wondering if there are any more... I am going to start buying stuff - I've always just used my moms stuff and since I'm exploring other avenues I need to get my own stuff she only has bc stuff.
Anyway, Thanks looking forward to finding some COOl stores!

Joann's and Hobby Lobby.... limited selection, but some stuff, nonetheless. Sign up for their weekly newsletter online, and every week you'll get an email with a coupon. This week, both of them are 40% off of one item. If you're buying a set of baking pans, it definitely adds up!

Also, Joann's has a few things on clearance right now. The Grapevine store has some Wilton cake stands clearanced, a few character pans, and miscellaneous "doo dads" (DH's technical term for cake things).

Oh, and WalMart has the Wilton fondant flower ejector set on clearance for $5 -- I picked one up earlier today.

HTH, and good luck bargain hunting! icon_biggrin.gif

I love the Cake Carousel in Richardson. It's not hard to get to.

Also try the Sale Place off of 635 and Elam. You can get boxes and cake boards there at a cheaper price than buying the Wilton ones. They also have Wilton stands, pillars, bags, etc...

We made a trip to Dallas just to check it out. It was worth it.

Thanks everyone - I'll have to ck out those places. I'm in ft worth so I don't know if I'll make it to Richardson or Dallas since I always have 2 small children in tow (1 and 2 yrs old). But it's something that I will def look into... I wish Arlington had some (other than Michaels and Hobby Lobby). Thanks Ladies I appreciate it. I'll hopfully be able to ck those out soon...

I took all three of my kiddos, one 8 and my twins are 2, to Cake Carousel a couple of weeks ago. They have a little play table by the front door. Kept all three of them busy while I looked around and kept an eye on them. I had to drag all three from the strore when I left. icon_rolleyes.gif

I live North of Ft. Worth and it took us a little under an hour to get there. If you can bribe someone to go with you, I took my mom, it helps a lot. Especially because you will need four hands to carry everything around the store.

I heard from my instructor that Elizabeth's in Hurst was cheaper than Cake Carousel. I'm going to check it out next week.

I just went to Cake Carousel while my husband and daughter played at the lego table by the door LOL. They did have some great hard to find stuff... but it really adds up QUICK!!!!! I spent 50 faster than I blinked and still, there were tons of things I wanted to get. Woe is me.

If there is a play area I might be ok... Then I could do it alone...

I went to Elizabeth's last week it' quaint and there were 2 desks w/ toys between them that my daughter played w/. ANd they had americolor there which I was excited about b/c I wanted to try them but didn't want to have to order it online.
ok mchsay you your on the north side of ftw and it took you under an hour -that's not so bad (I'm at I30 and Eastchase area) so it only took me 15 minutes to get to Elizabeths. Maybe Cake carousel won't be so bad...

Thanks ladies!
