I did my first Racecar cake yesterday, and I have a question about something.

How do you get smooth icing for the windshield? Would I need to ice that first before I do anything else? Please Help! That part of the cake did not look good. usaribbon.gif

Thanks
Connie

Your cake it great! What I have done in the past to smooth icing is dip my finger in corn syrup and gently smooth it out...would be good for a windshield as it leave a glossy finish, too.

I just take a small spatula and take one long swipe! It usually covers the entire window!
