Hello,

Does anyone know how I can paint jordanian almonds (the almonds that are coated in candy and given away as wedding favors) a silver color?

Would you suggest luster/pearl/disco dust? would it rub off or stay sticky? Would I have to use a liquid to paint it on or dust it on dry? If I have to add liquid, could anyone suggest something non-alcoholic (meaning no alcohol or extracts)?

Would you suggest airbrushing?

I have never used any of these items on cakes, let alone on candy, so I would really appreciate some assistance!

Thanks so much in advance!

I don't know how easy or hard it might be to paint them, but here are a couple of websites where you can buy them already gold or silver. Very pricey, but I'm betting you'd have this much or more invested in trying to do it yourself.

I recently purchased a Luster Dust by CK Products in Super Gold and used Everclear to paint onto candy. These Luster Dusts come in a variety of colors including several shades and intensities of silver. Check with your local cake decorating store or online. Hope this helps.

I have no idea of how to paint them. However I knew I had seen them for sale on the web. http://www.economycandy.com/store/category.aspx?SID=1&Category_ID=37& This is the best price I could find. Scrool down on the page they are the 8th one down. They are pricey but buying the luster dust and then messing with them would be both expensive and time consuming.

Don't forget to factor in shipping costs and min buys. On the jordan almonds website, the shipping is included but you have to buy 4 lbs.
