I've been asked by a local church group to do a birthday cake for our priest. Nothing big....only for approx. 15 people or so. Our priest came from the Phillipines and I would like to do something that is perhaps native / traditionnal from his country. I have zero ideas right now and am hoping someone from CC can help me out. Also a little low on the decorating ideas right now. Could use some suggestions. Thanks to all....Enjoy the day icon_smile.gif

Go to www.asiarecipe.com They have several traditional cake/desert recipes. There is one in there that I think sounds good. Mango Cream cake. Hope this helps! thumbs_up.gif

Try this http://www.123independenceday.com/philippines/national/symbols/index.html

Maybe you can make a cake that looks like their national flag.......or just simply make one that has their national flower on it...looks like it might be easy to do with Bc or gumpaste or something!!! I'm sure he would understand the flower and really love how thoughtfull you were. I'll try to attatch a pic. of one.
