I was given this recipe and it is the first time using it but it seemed to be grainy and hard and my Bosh seemed to have trouble mixing it.
Any help would be great.

2 bags of mini MM
1 TBLS less then a 1/4 Cup of water per bag of MM
2 2lbs of powdered sugar
2 tsp of light corn Syrup

well...
i don't see any crisco in that -- adds elasticity and helps keep from drying out.

normally, with any MMF recipe, won't use all the powdered sugar....just enough to get a non-tacky blob. and sifting PS helps.

and all liquids in at start of micro process and then work in the PS.

some will use machine for 1st lb of PS , but after that, safer to switch to working rest in by well-crisco-greased hands

grainy -- sounds like PS had clumps or clumped.
hard -- no crisco, too little liquid, too much PS

try adding a touch of water and some crisco. (and coloring and flavorings count as "water")

and here's the recipe/method many here use:
