I have a requested birthday cake
for a guy and am at a loss for ideas. I was hoping some of these great decorators could help me brainstorm a bit. I was thinking a tier cake, simple, yet elegant but not too girly - a definate male cake. Does that make since?
I'm learning new techniques, thanks to the wonderful people on this site and oh boy, I've got a ton of ideas racing through my head, but none make visible sense. I really need some clarity from you guys. Thanks for your time!
Find out the interests of the birthday guy. Any sort of sport? Gardening? Mechanical? What does he do for work? Many avenues to check on. I'm sure you'll come up with something of interest to him & you'll enjoy doing.
Please post a pic to share your creation with us.
Good Luck!!!
Anything in chocolate always seems to look manly...and let's face it, what guy doesn't like chocolate? ![]()

Do you work with fondant? How about something with marblized fondant? You could do some geometric shapes, use browns, oranges, reds, yellows, etc....if you'd like to go to my album, the last cake I uploaded would make a great guys cake (minus the flowers of course). HTH
